Our climate is changing before our eyes: wetter winters, shorter springs and hotter summers. What does this mean for gardeners? Join Des Doyle for an exploration of the impacts of climate change on gardening, how we can adjust our gardening practices, what to grow and what not to grow. You will leave with a good overview of best practice for future proofing your garden and with a great list of plants that will generate interest in challenging years ahead.
Des Doyle is a self taught gardener, garden speaker and garden designer. He is the author of ‘Growing Beauty’ (2024) and has a particular interest in marrying classic garden styles with new and innovative plants. His gravel garden in Co. Kilkenny was the first large scale gravel garden in Ireland and has proved to be resilient and innovative almost 8 years after its construction. An essential talk for gardeners who want to work with climate friendly plants.
