National Tree Week is celebrated in Altamont Gardens with a series of guided tours around their fabulous tree collection.
The estate gains much of its character from the many mature trees, both natives in the woodland areas, and exotic specimens throughout the gardens including the Swamp Cypress, Red Oak and Giant Redwood. A fascinating walk leads the visitors to the Ice Age Glen with its canopy of ancient oaks.
