Throughout the day, children can enjoy a range of engaging outdoor experiences that combine adventure, creativity and fun in the beautiful woodland setting of Rathwood.
The Little Princess Tea Party, taking place at 10.30am and 3.30pm, invites young visitors to step into a magical world with Princess Rowan. Children will journey through the woodland, help save the forest sparkle, feed the Royal Geese and paint their very own fairy door before enjoying a delightful princess afternoon tea fit for royalty. This enchanting experience is designed to create unforgettable memories for little princes and princesses alike.

At 12 and 2 pm, families can climb aboard the Teddy Bear Picnic Express for a fun-filled woodland adventure. Young guests are encouraged to bring along their favourite teddy bear as they enjoy a train journey through the forest, meet the Rathwood Bears and take part in a fun picnic experience. With plenty of opportunities for singing, games and family fun, it promises to be a great day out.

In keeping with the theme of the Carlow Garden Festival The Little Keepers experience, running at 1pm, gives children the chance to become junior gardeners and wildlife experts for the day. This hands-on activity includes a journey through the forest, opportunities to feed animals such as geese, deer and sheep, planting a pot to take home, and earning the title of certified Little Keeper. It is a wonderful way to encourage young people’s interest in nature and the environment.

Visitors can also enjoy the popular Woodland Train, departing at 1 and 3pm.
